WHOLE-OF-LIFE REDUCTIONS TO VETERAN DFRDB RETIREMENT PAY

For all Ex Service personnel (and friends), even if you aren’t affected by the DFRDB fiasco, we seek your support to sign this petition and to be super helpful, forward this email onto shipmates, corp mates and flying mates (and or colleagues), to get this thing up.  All help is appreciated and will take less than 2 minutes to complete.

Hi Superannuants

A CALL TO URGENT ACTION

Many of you may be unaware that during my recent absence OS, the Parliamentary Petition Committee approved our Campaign submission for a Lower House Electronic Petition.

The Approved Electronic Petition is OPEN as:

EN4548   WHOLE-OF-LIFE REDUCTIONS TO VETERAN DFRDB RETIREMENT PAY and will remain so until 23 November 2022.

In the short time since approval, we have already amassed some 2251 signatures, with our target being at least 5,000.  The Parliament will only accept a single petition from each email address. Accordingly, where you, your family or colleagues have access to additional email addresses, please use these to circumvent the restriction imposed by the Parliament.  We need as many registered signatures as we can muster.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR PETITION – GO TO

https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/list

Then :

TYPE IN PETITION NUMBER – EN4548  in the Search panel and click on icon.

SCROLL TO BOTTOM OF PAGE – SIGN PETITION

You will then receive an email – To VERIFY your signature, you must click on the LINK to validate YOUR petition vote.

The full details of the Petition can be viewed on the above detailed site by clicking on the petition number EN4548 which calls for a completely independent of the Commonwealth Review of the DFRDB scheme by APRA. (The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) is an independent statutory authority that supervises institutions across banking, insurance and superannuation, and is accountable to the Australian Parliament.)

For those of you who have not been party to our Campaign, it should be noted that the petition includes the following aspects of DFRDB:

  • Exclusionary Detailing; Duplicity; Commutation; Retirement Pay Indexation; ‘Service’ eligibility-period in whole years; and, the age penalties imposed on certain serving Officers.

Kind Regards and Thanks
