About 150 people gathered at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park this afternoon to farewell ex-CPO(RS) Dennis Gorton RAN.

RANCBA WA was represented by the Treasurer, Arthur Large and your President. Our Hon secretary had a medical appointment.

The congregation was an eclectic group of people who had encounter Dennis over his very active 94 years and joined in paying tribute to a remarkable man, a husband, father, grandfather, sailor, radio technician, teacher, glider and fixed wing pilot, altogether a remarkable man, our former president and life member.

Dennis’ wife of 72 years, Betty, was also fondly remembered at the service.

The RAN provided a WO Liaison Officer and a PO (Musn) to sound the Last Post and Rouse.

A wonderful service and one of those days when the writer was proud to belong.
